This week, as we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re heading to Lighthouse Elementary in Jupiter to meet a teacher who creates the very first spark for our youngest students.

Behind the Badge: Officer Midian Diaz

We're taking you Behind the Badge, shining a spotlight on the incredible men and women of the Palm Beach County School Police Department! Today, we're visiting Officer Midian Diaz at Meadow Park Elementary School in West Palm Beach. Officer Diaz came to School Police after 25 years with Boynton Beach Police. He is a very important part of the Meadow Park family, creating strong bonds with students and staff, and always being there to support them. Officer Diaz says his job with School Police is a perfect fit! "Love my job, love the kids, love the staff," he says.

As a biology teacher at Olympic Heights Community High School in Boca Raton, Jessica Natoli is doing more than just teaching from a textbook. She’s fueled by the hope of inspiring the next generation of doctors, nurses, and scientists. Her hard work, talents, and commitment to the future of healthcare and science earns her this this week’s “Thank a Teacher” winning certificate and a $500 check compliments of HCA Florida Healthcare.
